What is your maximum capacity?
Our Egyptian Patio can fit up to 100 seated for ceremonies. Ceremonies and receptions of up to 175 seated guests take place in our Rose Garden.
Can I choose my own caterer?
In order to preserve the integrity of our historic property and offer the best possible options for you and your guests, all food and beverage services must be provided by one of our Approved Caterers. You can view the list by clicking here.
Am I required to have an Event Coordinator?
Yes, Darlington House requires all clients to hire a licensed and insured event coordinator. Professional coordinators are experienced at running complicated events with many moving parts. Your coordinator will maintain the agenda for the event as well as be responsible for directing and assisting vendors in set-up and breakdown.
Does Darlington House have any noise restrictions?
Darlington House is an outdoor event space located in a residential neighborhood, so is subject to San Diego County’s noise ordinances. Events on Fridays and Saturdays end by 10 pm; events on Thursdays and Sundays end at 9 pm. DJs are allowed for receptions, and acoustic musicians may be used for ceremony and cocktail hour.

Where will my guests park?
Darlington House has a small parking lot dedicated to event vendors, but guests will need to find street parking. To ensure a seamless and welcoming experience for guests, we highly recommend that our clients hire Preferred Valet Parking or a shuttle for guests.
Are there any alcohol restrictions?
While we do allow hard alcohol to be served, we do not allow kegs, shots, or "neat" drinks. Alcohol must be served by licensed and trained bar staff from one of our Approved Caterers.
Can I put up my own decorations?
For safety and to preserve the integrity of our historic property, all set-up for events must be done by insured professional vendors.
We are hoping to have our dog participate in our celebration. Is this allowed?
While we love our furry friends, our designation as a historic property prohibits pets. Service animals are always welcome, but we do appreciate a heads-up if they will be on property for your event.
